The environment at the department is characterised by global perspectives and internationalisation. The main focus of our research is on global processes and their implications for power, security, justice and development. We provide courses and study programmes in both Swedish and English and our students come from all over the world.

Education in Global Political Studies

Courses and study programmes at the Department of Global Political Studies are interdisciplinary and several are taught in English. We offer several bachelor’s programmes and master's programmes, as well as a wide range of freestanding courses.

The research environment at GPS

Global Political Studies is an interdisciplinary department with research on politics, power relations and the construction of identity in local, national, international and global contexts. We focus on organisations, governance, policy instruments and decision-making processes, and also studies of international migration and migration-related social issues.
