Students and staff uniting: a kick-off for a more climate conscious university

We look forward to seeing you, staff and students at Malmö University, at our first Climate Day. We hope that together we can fill the day and evening with activities and encourage you to see this as an opportunity to focus on climate change, our global challenge, together with colleagues and students. We aim to have this day as a starting point for a long-term commitment to address issues around climate change in our organisational activities, education, research and outreach.

Programme

Starting 9.00 IT takeback with ATEA (all day)

Bring your old tech to Niagara, entrance level or Allmänna sjukhuset. Also 9.00–12.00 on 31 May.

Starting 10.00 Swaps, competitions, exhibitions in the libraries (all day)

  • Orkanen: Swap clothes, sticklingar, books and try the seed library. Meet Malmö City and Smarta Kartan. Visit the students' sustainable art gallery and much more.
  • Allmänna Sjukhuset (HS): Plant swap.
  • Klerken (OD): Plant swap and TePe's sustainablity exhibition.

11.45 – 13.00 Lunch for PhD students

12.10 – 12.50 Digital lunch with TePe, discussing their sustainability work (in Swedish)

An online lecture hosted by Käftis studentkår, OD (more information and a link will be announced here).

13.15 – 13.45 An official welcome and a dialogue about the role of our researchers and teachers

Inspiring talk and discussion with Joel Larsson, a general partner and co-founder of Pale Blue Dot.

14.30 – 15.30 Klimatångest – ja tack! (in Swedish)

En föreläsning om klimatkänslor med klimatpsykolog Frida Hylander och Lisa Garting, projektledare för Terra-Pi. Terra-Pi drivs av Folkuniversitetet och finansieras av Allmänna arvsfonden.
