Born 1971. Johan Brännmark completed his PhD in Practical Philosophy at Lund University in 2002 with a dissertation on Kantian ethics, became a docent in 2009, and is since 2011 an associate professor in ethics and political philosophy at the Department of Global Political Studies, teaching mainly within human rights. He has previously worked on a number of issues in normative ethics and value theory, but is currently working mainly on four areas: (i) constructivist methodology in moral and political theory, (ii) human rights as a framework in bioethics, (iii) evidence-basing for paternalist policy interventions, and (iv) social ontology, especially the nature of institutions.
