Presentation
Johan Farkas is a PhD Student at Malmö University in Media and Communication Studies. His thesis examines journalistic coverage of online disinformation. Farkas is the author of the book ’Post-Truth, Fake News and Democracy: Mapping the Politics of Falsehood’ (Routledge, 2019), written with Jannick Schou. He has also published in international journals such as New Media & Society, Social Media + Society and Critical Discourse Studies. Overall, his research interests lie at the intersection of digital media platforms, politics, journalism, and democracy. Since 2018, Farkas is Chair of the Young Scholars Network of the European Communication Research and Education Association (YECREA).
