I hold a PhD in Public Administration (University of Gothenburg 2012) and work as a senior lecturer and researcher at political science in the department of Global political studies. My research deals with issues of local democracy, power and policy processes in urban governance. I have been teaching and researching issues related to urban and planning theory at the Royal institute of technology (KTH) and the Multicultural center in Botkyrka. Presently, I do research on citizen participation and deliberative democracy, politics against segregation and their valence on the policy agenda, as well as the relation between racism, public's, democracy and the opportunity for bottom-up democratization founded in the grass-roots activities of civil society. I often conduct collaborative research processes with policy actors and civil society movements.
