Presentation

I am a PhD-student in history and history didactics at Malmö University since the autumn of 2018. Before I started my PhD i studied a one year masters in history and a full two-year masters in archival science at Lund University and later on worked as an archivist/records manager at Malmö Municipality.

My ongoing thesis-project deals with the rise of” the immigrants”/” the foreigners” as a social category within Swedish political debate during the time period 1964-2018. The aim of this study is to create an understanding of how the concept of” the immigrant” were created in Swedish debate as well as how this concept effected, and were affected by, school practices. Theoretically I am a influenced by policy-discourse analysis and theories of governmentality and feminism as well as post-colonial perspectives.

Apart from social categorization I have a broad interest in history as well as archival science. Within the historical field I am mostly interested in European political history from the 18th century and onwards as well as social movements and political agency. In the archival field I am mostly interested in questions regarding the organisation of knowledge and archival law.

Apart from my research I have also done some instruction at various undergraduate courses. In my teaching I mostly supervise students writing overviews of knowledge at the teachers programme and supervise minor thesis at the carreer- and study counselling programme.
