About the project

The purpose of the study is to highlight and problematize financial and structural conditions for elite parents. This means investigating whether these two time-consuming life situations can be successfully combined. It is a study that asks several questions about the specific conditions that it means to be an elite athlete and how a family life fits into such a life.

Elite sports need to be adapted to allow several elite athletes to combine elite sports with family life. The study will show the opportunities and shortcomings that will eventually change the view of parenthood in elite sports. The question is not whether it is possible to combine elite sports with family life but what are the conditions for it to be possible? Is it possible financially and if so for whom?
