About the project
Protein-based therapeutics are becoming increasingly popular in medicine. Compared to low molecular drugs, they are more specific, cause fewer side effects and are environmentally friendly. To increase stability of pharmaceutical proteins, they are often formulated is solid state, where due to low water contents many degradation processes slow down. In this project we will use coated amorphous cross-linked starch microparticles as drug delivery vehicles for therapeutic proteins. The project will be performed in collaboration between Malmö University and two companies, Magle Chemoswed and Adroit Science.
