About the project

The aim of the present study is to explore experiences of polyamorous family relations, focusing on three dimensions:

1) interactions within the polyamorous family, focusing on intimacy, belonging, sexuality, and equality;

2) interplays between the polyamorous family and the surrounding society, exploring social relationships and contacts with professionals in schools and welfare institutions;

3) experiences of possibilities and limitations of living outside legal regulations of couples and nuclear families.

The project is an interview study, where we have been doing individual and group interviews. We are currently working on several publications on the basis of this material, as well as on media contacts regarding the project.
