About the project

Creating conditions for equal access to diagnostic- and health care services and diminishing existing health differences in the population are important prerequisites for sustainable social development. In response to these challenges, team work and collaboration between health care providers has been suggested as the most important improvement.

Nonetheless, these abilities are not intuitive, but need to be practiced throughout health care education. Also, educational activities need to be designed to enhance the students´ ability to develop as competent professionals in a complex society that is rapidly changing and evolving. However, educational activities are often inadequately evaluated by means of carefully designed and executed studies. Malmö University´s Strategy 2022 stress that teaching practices have to be grounded in research. This implies that higher education should meet the criteria of scientific validity and not least practical relevance.

Thereby, we have identified the need for increased research collaboration across the departments by conducting high-quality research of educational models, and thus develop teaching strategies that are securely based in scientific evidence. The project is thus an embryo for a possible future research platform embracing all departments at the faculty.
