About the project

The project addresses how students with different backgrounds in terms of gender, diversity and socio-economic resources handle the types of knowledge with different degrees of complexity in the Swedish history curriculum. The empirical material consists of student responses from the national test in history conducted in 2017.

The project consists of three sub-studies:

  • one deals with how boys and girls handle procedural knowledge,
  • one that deals with how students that have Swedish as a first second language handle conceptual knowledge and
  • one that deals with how students from schools with different student bases in terms of socio-economic resources handle factual knowledge.
