Magnus Erlandsson holds a PhD in Political Science, on a thesis on internal reforms of the Swedish Government Offices. His primary research interests have been in political executives, public organizations and management reforms, often from the perspective of "the power and roles of the bureaucracy in policy processes". His research has resulted in studies of the state's market surveillance, regulatory simplification, agricultural policy and integration policy. For some years now, he has held a lectureship in leadership and have a particular interest in the Swedish school's governance, organization and leadership, which has resulted in several textbooks on themes such as preschool and school leadership, value-based work, systematic quality work and proven experience.
