Banned Books Week 2026
Banned Books Week Sweden is organised by the Dawit Isaak Library in Malmö and Swedish PEN. It is a way of keeping the debate on freedom of expression alive and a powerful defence of everyone’s right to read. In collaboration with the Dawit Isaak Library, Malmö University is marking Banned Books Week with a book exhibition, seminars and a study visit to Dawit Isaak Library.

Every week, you can meet several of the university’s support services at the Orkanen Library. The Student Health Service offers free "fika", the Study and Career Guidance Service and the Writing Centre provide drop-in sessions, and at the Language Café you can practise your Swedish. On Fridays you can join the Writing Centre's weekly writing group for international students called "Let's write this thing". Find out more about the different activities below:

At the moment, it is not possible to request interlibrary loans directly via Libris. Please use the library’s form instead. For article requests, the Get‑it‑now service will end on 30 June. The library is looking into a new solution but unfortunately does not yet know when it will be in place.
