I am a researcher working somewhere between media philosophy and digital culture, which mostly means I think about things that are sometimes taken for granted—like what “digital media” actually are. I am particularly interested in the future-facing side of this—trying to understand not only what digital media are, but what they are in the process of becoming (often faster than we can keep up with).

A current central theme in my research is openness. In a project funded by the Malmö Research Centre for Imagining and Co-Creating Futures, I explore how ideals and conceptualisations of openness are challenged by contemporary media systems.
