This course offers two modules that explore the strategic approaches to communication for development among significant organisations in the field, addressing institutional contexts and discourses, and a module inviting students to explore specific texts/media representations in development organisations and movements, as well as a wider set of societal actors.

Course content
This course comprises two modules.
Communication and Development Cooperation (7.5hp) explores the strategic approaches to communication for development among significant organisations in the field, addressing institutional contexts and discourses.
The module Culture and Media Analysis (7.5hp) invites students to explore specific texts/media representations in development or humanitarian organisations, popular or memory culture as well as social movements.
Entry requirements
Degree of Bachelor or equivalent + The equivalent of English course 6 in Swedish secondary school, or: English level 2.

Course evaluation
Malmö University provides students who participate in, or who have completed a course, with the opportunity to express their opinions and describe their experiences of the course by completing a course evaluation administered by the University. The University will compile and summarise the results of course evaluations. The University will also inform participants of the results and any decisions relating to measures taken in response to the course evaluations. The results will be made available to the students (HF 1:14).
