Unveiling of this year’s illustrated professors’ portraits at Malmö University

Malmö University invites you to the unveiling of this year’s illustrated professors’ portraits – a unique tradition in which a comic artist is commissioned each year to interpret the university’s newly appointed professors.

This year’s artist is Steve Nyberg, selected by the university’s Professor of Fine Arts, Gunnar Krantz, in consultation with the project manager for Academic Ceremony Week. Nyberg created the portraits in comic-book form, capturing each professor’s personality and the distinctive character of their academic field, with a playful twist that challenges the conventions of the traditional portrait.

At the unveiling, this year’s professors’ portraits will be revealed for the first time. Gunnar Krantz will talk about the artist and the creative process, and Steve Nyberg will also attend.
