Maja Vilhelmsen

Citizen Health's Lunch Seminar in October is visited by Maja Vilhelmsen, PhD in Public Health and postdoctoral researcher at the National Research Centre for the Working Environment, Denmark.

Maja’s research focuses on developing and implementing health-promoting interventions in a range of settings. She explores cocreation with relevant stakeholders as a strategy to develop targeted interventions that respond to local contexts and build local capacity. Her work spans schools, local communities and workplaces.

Maja's talk will focus on co-creating healthier communities with and for children. The seminar explores the development and implementation of a community intervention to promote children’s health in six Danish communities as part of the Generation Healthy Kids project.

Drawing on her PhD research, Maja will share experiences of involving local stakeholders, including municipalities, schools, sports clubs and NGOs, alongside local children, in shaping and initiating health-promoting activities within the community. She will also present findings on how the intervention and stakeholder engagement evolved over time.
