Scholars at Risk's Free to Think Report 2026 – Swedish launch

Staff and colleagues at Scholars at Risk (SAR) member universities are warmly invited to attend the Swedish launch of the Free to Think Report 2026.

Published annually by the Scholars at Risk Academic Freedom Monitoring Project, Free to Think documents and analyses attacks on higher education communities worldwide. The report highlights emerging threats to academic freedom, with the aim of raising awareness and encouraging both state and non-state actors to strengthen their commitment to protecting and promoting academic freedom.

This year's Swedish launch will be hosted by Malmö University. Participants from SAR member universities are welcome to join either in person in representationsrummet, Nereus, or online via Zoom.

The report will be presented by Amy Kapit from Scholars at Risk, New York. The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion featuring researchers in political science, moderated by Malin Ideland, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research and Doctoral Education at Malmö University.

For participants attending in person, fika will be served from 15:00.
