Otabek Abdullaev is a PhD student at Malmö University, affiliated with RUCARR (Russia, Ukraine, Caucasus Regional Research), funded by Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions grant. His research examines administrative law reforms in post-2016 Uzbekistan, focusing on how legality-based legitimation shapes perceived state responsiveness

State legitimation strategies in non-democratic contexts; Administrative law and legal-institutional reform in post-Soviet Central Asia; Public perceptions of state responsiveness and politics of being heard; Discursive analysis of elite speech and claims to legitimacy;
