I have a PhD in criminology and my research focuses on how fear of crime and crime are distributed and develop across different types of residential areas. A particular attention is given to how individual characteristics shape, and are shaped by, the context in which people live.

I am especially interested in how individuals' personal characteristics and experiences interact with the social and physical conditions of their surroundings, and how this interplay may influence involvement in crime.

Another of my research interests is evaluating crime prevention and safety-enhancing initiatives, including interventions focused on both social and situational prevention.
