The course aims to enable the student to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills required to independently work with advanced projects within the field of media technology on a research-based basis.

Course content
The course aims for the student to develop the knowledge, understanding, and skills required to independently carry out advanced projects within the field of media technology in a research-based manner.
- The course includes the writing of a master's thesis within the subject of media technology as well as the development of an exploratory prototype, artefact, model or similar.
- The work includes identification of a research area, formulation of a research problem, selection and review of relevant literature, design and implementation of an empirical study, and theoretically informed analysis.
- The course also includes critical review of others’ as well as one’s own work in relation to scientific, societal and ethical issues.
Entry requirements
- 60 credits in Media Technology: Strategic Media Development, Master’s Programme, including Research Methodology, Data Analysis and Visualization, 7,5 credits
- English 6. Or: English level 2

Course evaluation
Malmö University provides students who participate in, or who have completed a course, with the opportunity to express their opinions and describe their experiences of the course by completing a course evaluation administered by the University. The University will compile and summarise the results of course evaluations. The University will also inform participants of the results and any decisions relating to measures taken in response to the course evaluations. The results will be made available to the students (HF 1:14).
