Human rights are integrated into every aspect of Malmö University – in education, research and collaboration. The Collegium for Human Rights brings together dedicated researchers and staff from across the university to strengthen, raise awareness of and develop work on human rights from an interdisciplinary perspective.

About the Collegium For Human Rights

The collegium is an open forum for researchers, lecturers and staff at Malmö University.

Human rights is a broad and dynamic field of study at Malmö University, where research, education and social engagement are interwoven. Research spans topics ranging from peace, democracy and migration to global politics, the ethics of digitalisation and the role of welfare professionals in safeguarding rights. The projects address both local and global issues and include everything from the rights of undocumented migrants to public transport as a rights issue.

Within this field, the university is an active player in a turbulent world: through Campus total defence, by leading national networks, and by contributing knowledge in times of war and conflict. Events, podcasts and publications demonstrate how researchers participate in public discourse and make their knowledge accessible to a wider public. Overall, an environment emerges in which human rights are not merely studied but actively negotiated, communicated and defended in dialogue with society.
