Seminar – Oral health promotion with different approaches

You are welcome to attend the seminar "Oral health promotion with different approaches – Lay community health worker or professional health promoters". 

Speakers

Sara Björns and Karen Sokal. Sara Björns is a dental hygienist and PhD student at the University of Gothenburg. Her research project at the Västra Götaland Public Dental Service evaluates how professional health promoters, through health consultations, can empower parents, promote healthy lifestyles, improve children’s oral health and reduce tooth decay in socio-economically disadvantaged areas.

Karen Sokal is a doctor from the USA and a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Public Health. Her research focuses on promoting children’s nutrition and oral health through multi-professional teams comprising medical and dental staff, teachers and lay health advisors in socio-economically disadvantaged communities in California, Latin America and Asia.
