Presentation
Helena Holmström Olsson is a professor at the Department of Computer Science and Media Technology at Malmö University. She got her PhD at the University of Gothenburg in 2004, and has since then been active at a number of Swedish and international universities.
Her research is conducted in Software Center. Software Center is a collaboration between 16 companies in the embedded systems domain (Ericsson, Volvo Cars, AB Volvo, SAAB, Tetra Pak, Axis Communications, Grundfos, BOSCH, Siemens, Wärtsilä, Qamqom, CEVT, Jeppesen (Boeing), Scania, DEIF and Zenseact) and five Swedish universities (Gothenburg University, Chalmers, Malmö University, Linköping University and Mälardalen University). Her research is conducted within the area of Software Engineering and focuses on AI engineering, data-driven development, software and business ecosystems, business agility and the overall digital transformation of the embedded systems domain.
In addition to her research in Software Center, Helena is affiliated with WASP (Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program) as a senior researcher and supervisor in the area of automated experimentation in large-scale software systems. Also, she is involved in research and supervision of PhD students funded by CHAIR (Chalmers AI Research Centre) with a focus on data management and federated learning.
Helena is a member of the Malmö University board and also a member of the faculty board for the Faculty of Technology and Society at Malmö University.
