Presentation
Mats Greiff is professor in history. He is particularly interested in social and cultural history and uses concepts as class, gender, ethnicity and generation. Earlier on, the research were focused on Labour and Working Class history with a gender perspective. Another field of interest was the conflict in Northern Ireland. Greiff has also worked on the history of Swedish horse.- and harness racing. In more recent yeras, Greiff has focused on the relation between popular music and societal change. Among other s, he has published on rock-Music, youth and the formation of generations in GDR. Another Project within this field is on country music, gender and local Identity in the Applachians. The latest Project is on the historical roots of the English popular Music of the sixties.
