Aim

The aim of the course is to provide further development of skills and knowledge in the application X-ray and neutron methods for analysis of samples of interest in the student’s research field. In consultation with the instructor, the student will plan and carry out a data analysis or simulation project based on a relevant experimental technique. The project should involve application of available software tools or production of custom scripts for data processing and analysis by e.g. least-squares fitting, using real data sets provided by the student or instructor. Alternatively, a project involving simulation of corresponding data for samples of interest can be performed.

Entry requirements

Admission to doctoral studies in engineering or natural science and previous completion of the course “Synchrotron- and neutron-based methods in engineering and natural science”, 5 credits.
