Aim

The aim of the course is to develop skills and knowledge in the application of X-ray and neutron methods at an advanced level consistent with peer-reviewed scientific publication. In consultation with the instructor, the student will design and carry out a data analysis or simulation project emphasizing rigorous quantitative methodology, including model selection and critical evaluation, validation of assumptions, uncertainty estimation, sensitivity analysis, and development of transparent and reproducible workflows. The project shall also include preparation of results for scholarly dissemination and long-term archival.

Entry requirements

Admission to doctoral studies in engineering or natural science and previous completion of the courses “Synchrotron- and neutron-based methods in engineering and natural science”, 5 credits and “Project course – data analysis and simulation for X-ray and neutron methods. Part I”.
