In my research, I focus on children’s books that depict dark and troubled societies. I am particularly interested in how authors navigate the tension between aesthetics, ethics, and pedagogy in their writing, and how hope, endings, and possible futures are portrayed or represented in children’s books.

I am a writer for children and young adults myself, and have taught creative writing in many different contexts. I also have a background as a high school teacher of Swedish and Swedish as a second language.
