Digital health
We conduct research on digitally mediated healthcare and healthy living, relying on computer science, information systems, human computer interaction, and biomedical engineering.
Our Research
Research studies
Together with companies and clinicians, we develop and validate digital technologies, monitor and empower patient understanding and management of their health conditions in everyday life, as well as reduce health risks through sensor-based technologies promoting physical activity.
Applied use of multimodal AI allows early detection of health risks and deteriorating health, as well as development of novel digital biomarkers. Stakeholder involvement and design-driven inquiry capture different perceptions held by patients and patient associations, family carers and support systems, as well as healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and healthcare management.
Workshops
- International collaboration and grant writing at different levels of the academic career, including for international visits, travel, and career development
- Research protocols, ethical approval, and legislative compliance.
- Potential for cross-project collaborations, publications, and group-led conference/workshop organizing.
- Strategic grants which the group can contribute to in a leading role.
- Making practice contributions and potential for commercialization.
Guest researchers
Visitors present their research in seminars, and are invited based on experience with highly functional digital health research groups as well as strategic value for establishing research exchange, joint applications and publications. Weekly programs are adapted to the invited researchers, and overall aims to include guests with complementing research agendas, as well as strategically develop long-term collaborations.
