Presentation

I am an Associate Professor of Education and hold a position as a Senior Lecturer in Swedish with a focus on subject didactics. I teach both pre-service and in-service teachers in courses on Swedish language didactics. I also serve as an advisor to the dean, a role that includes particular responsibility for the faculty’s doctoral education.

With a background as a primary school teacher (early years), I have a special interest in early literacy development. How is reading instruction actually enacted in classrooms beyond public debate and policy documents? This is something I study together with colleagues in an ongoing project, which you can read more about here: https://mau.se/forskning/projekt/depth/.

Reading and writing instruction is also a focus of FEELIT, a graduate school in which Malmö University is involved together with Linnaeus University, Kristianstad University, and Linköping University. In autumn 2026, nine doctoral students will begin their studies in the graduate school. Another area that interests me is the digitalisation of education. What does it mean to read digitally versus in print? How do students collaborate when writing online? What happens to source criticism in light of AI? Several of these issues are discussed within the network I am part of, TIMDA. We maintain a blog available at: https://timda.nu/blog-feed/.

I am affiliated with the research programme Literacy and Inclusive Teaching (LIT-Research): https://litresearch.se/.
