About the project
FamCASP is a theoretical model that describes how individualized support can be provided to family members within routine cancer care for the purpose of preventing illness related to stressors induced by the cancer experience. The model includes a screening tool that family members can use to identify their needs for support together with tailored recommendations about how to act on them. This screening tool is currently being co-designed by an interdisciplinary research group together with family members, patients, cancer nurses, counsellors and Regionala cancercentrum i samverkan. Subsequently, the feasibility of the support model will be evaluated in outpatient cancer care.
