The research group Sexual Identities and Non-Normative Sexual Practices brings together research on sexual identities, gender identities, and sexual practices that fall outside societal norms.

Our Research

The group's researchers examine how identities and practices are experienced and given meaning at personal, discursive, and societal levels, as well as how certain identities and practices are marginalised and how health and living conditions related to sexuality can be improved.

Our research addresses social institutions such as residential care, social services, and the justice system; experiences related to substance use, migration, surrogacy, assisted reproduction, and divorce; as well as exposure to discrimination and violence.
