Co-production and collaborative research workshop
A full-day workshop focusing on co-production, collaborative and co-creative methods led by Professor Debbie Watson who is the Director of Bristol University’s Brigstow Institute – a community of researchers seeking to carry out equitable research and knowledge creation.
Exploring values, models and approaches
In this interactive workshop we will explore the rationale for co-production, the underpinning values and ways of working, as well as a consideration of theoretical models of co-production. Co-producing knowledge and recognizing that knowledge resides everywhere is a central value held in the Brigstow Institute at the University of Bristol, and we will explore our approach in this workshop.
Challenging Assumptions About Knowledge
How knowledge is operationalized in research is not always straightforward, however, issues of power, inequities, and hierarchies influence how University-led research is conducted. In this workshop, we will encourage you to consider how to challenge some of the (often) tacit beliefs that are held about what counts as knowledge in the design and delivery of co-produced research projects.
