Doctoral studies at Urban Studies

The third-cycle subject area of Urban Studies can be defined as the scientific study of the content, form, planning, and transformation of urban areas. The subject is positioned in the exciting interface between social and cultural practices and the material world of landscapes, buildings, infrastructures, and everyday objects. Organisation Studies at Malmö University takes its point of departure in societal challenges and studies local, regional, and global activities, sustainability, and inclusion in organisations. Organisation Studies require an interaction between theorising and empirical-based research.

Collaborate with US

An important task for Urban Studies is to collaborate with industry, municipalities or other parties on different projects. It is possible to collaborate with us in many ways, with relation to our research and our first-cycle courses and study programmes. Degree projects, conferences, contract education, accompanying and commissioned research are examples of activities that all take place in collaboration with society.
