Threats and violence
In case of an emergency, please call 112.
In urgent but non-emergency situations, call Malmö University's security number 040-665 80 80 and, if possible, activate the alarm system.
All incidents involving threats, such as threat of violence, must be reported to the immediate supervisor and the police. The University will follow up and investigate the incident to see if similar incidents can be prevented from happening again.
Theft
In case of theft, you should report it to the police, either via the Swedish Police Authority's website, or by phone, 114 14.
It is important that you report the incident to the police yourself, as it is usually you who can best explain what happened and answer any additional questions. Malmö University has no insurance cover for your personal belongings.
Reporting of accidents, threats and other incidents
Accidents, environmental hazards, threats or harassment, or other potentially harmful incidents, must be reported so that they can be investigated and addressed.
In the event of a fire
- Rescue those in obvious danger.
- Call 112 to reach the emergency services, ambulance, or police. Do not end the call until you have been instructed to do so.
- Warn others at risk.
- Evacuate by using the nearest escape route and go to the assembly point – see evacuation plan.
- Extinguish the fire if you deem it possible. Do not expose yourself to danger.
Never use an elevator during an evacuation. Avoid smoke – if possible, crawl under the smoke if you have to pass through a space filled with smoke.
Evacuation for people with disabilities
People with disabilities can evacuate either to special evacuation points, or to neighbouring premises that form a separate fire compartment from the fire. These can provide adequate protection in the event of a fire while waiting for assistance to continue evacuating to the open air.
The special evacuation points are located next to, or in, stairwells and are marked with the symbol below. There you can also find more information on how the persons concerned should act in the event of a fire.
