Swedish Language, Culture and Society III
About the course
This course is designed for students who want to further develop their Swedish language skills. It focuses on expanding high-frequency vocabulary and strengthening grammar, reading, pronunciation, and writing for everyday communication.
Students will participate in a variety of learning activities, such as grammar explanations, oral practice, writing exercises and participation in language cafés.
We foster a creative and stimulating learning environment to support language development. Additionally, Swedish culture and social life are presented and discussed in English to deepen cultural understanding.
Upon completion, students will have achieved approximately to level A2 in the Common European Framework of Reference scale (CEFR).
If you apply for the course Swedish Language, Culture and Society III and you have not participated on or have not passed the course Swedish Language, Culture and Society II you will be able to take an eligibility test here in Malmö.
You will receive an invitation, by e-mail after the first admission round (after 18 December). The test will take place at Malmö University on 19 January, at 15.15 to 18.00.
The eligibility test consists of a written component and a short oral component. The purpose of the test is to determine whether you have sufficient knowledge in Swedish to be able to be admitted to the course.
Course content
The student develops a vocabulary of high-frequency words and phrases as well as grammatical skills for oral and written everyday communication in Swedish. The course includes reading of simple texts. In all parts, Swedish everyday life / student life is in focus.
In addition to what is covered in language teaching, Swedish culture and Swedish social life are presented and discussed in English.

Course evaluation
Malmö University provides students who participate in, or who have completed a course, with the opportunity to express their opinions and describe their experiences of the course by completing a course evaluation administered by the University. The University will compile and summarise the results of course evaluations. The University will also inform participants of the results and any decisions relating to measures taken in response to the course evaluations. The results will be made available to the students (HF 1:14).
