The lives, struggles and organisation of textile workers

In Malmö, the textile industry was larger than the mechanical industry around the turn of the last century. A majority of women worked in this industry. What were their conditions like? What was their union involvement like from 1890 to the beginning of the 1930s? The development of the textile industry during the post-war period is also briefly presented here.

The lecturer is Eva Schmitz, retired lecturer at Halmstad University who has researched women's organization within the labor movement.
