Title

Microwave assisted recycling of carbon fiber from carbon fiber reinforced polymers

Speaker

Andreas Krause, Department of Materials Science and Applied Mathematics (MTM), Malmö University

Talk overview

Due to their low specific modulus carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP) are important not only in automotive and aerospace industry but also key for wind turbines and transition to an emission reduced society. The lifetime is though limited and with the state-of-the-art recycling techniques most of the carbon fibers are used for energy recovery or landfill after end of life. We present an approach using microwave assisted chemical treatment to recover carbon fiber from CFRP.

We look forward to seeing you there!
