"Michael Mokhberi, VD at Theca Systems is nominated for honorary doctor at the Faculty of Technology and Society for his outstanding and long-standing contributions that have promoted both research and collaboration between academia and industry. Through his visionary leadership and deep commitment to societal benefit, he has been a catalyst for innovative initiatives that have strengthened Malmö University's position as a hub for computer science research in the areas of digital search and digital recommendations for various application areas, especially e-commerce.

Michael has consistently supported the faculty's research by providing an advanced development platform for doctoral students and undergraduates to test and further develop computer science methods in the areas of recommendation systems and search technologies. These efforts have not only been of great importance for the university's academic progress, but also for the application of research results in concrete industrial solutions that benefit society at large. This has led to computer science researchers at Malmö University being named the most influential in the field of artificial intelligence and recommendation systems in e-commerce; see reference `A.
