A God Disguised with Malmö Academic Choir and Orchestra

For the final concert of our season, Malmö Academic Choir and Orchestra will perform the work A God Disguised, based on poems by Hjalmar Gullberg. This Swedish classic is a piece about light, transformation, and the divine that quietly filters its way into the everyday. The poems were written during the interwar period, and a few years later, after the outbreak of the Second World War, they were set to music by Lars-Erik Larsson. In the shadow of the war, a prologue was added for the piece’s premiere:

Not for the strong in the world but for the feeble.
Not for the warlike, but for the humble who till the soil without a grumble
a god plays on a flute.
It is a Grecian fable.

You are warmly invited to join us as we step into the light and transformation that summer brings!

Tickets for the concert can be purchased at Kulturcentralen or at the door.
