Presentation

I am an experienced registered nurse specializing in anesthesia and intensive care. I hold a master’s degree in clinical nutrition, which is my area of interest. Specifically, I focus on clinical nutrition for intensive care patients and those with chronic conditions. Additionally, I am a certified scuba diving instructor with expertise in diving-related basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS).

Currently, I am a PhD student researching the quality of life in individuals with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). My doctoral dissertation explores the complex interplay between diet, environment, and lifestyle in the management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) among young adults. Situated within the broader research platform "Being young and living with inflammatory bowel disease," the research aims to generate new scientific insights into the specific needs and challenges faced by this population. By examining the relationships between dietary habits, environmental factors, and personal stressors, the dissertation seeks to uncover effective strategies to alleviate symptoms, prevent flare-ups, and improve the quality of life for IBD patients. The research employs a combination of qualitative and quantitative methodologies across four interrelated studies, investigating the impact of dietary interventions, stressors, and lifestyle modifications on disease progression. The findings are expected to contribute to both academic knowledge and clinical practice, emphasizing a holistic approach to IBD management that integrates nutritional, psychological, and lifestyle factors. Ultimately, the dissertation aims to empower young individuals with IBD to actively participate in their treatment, enhancing their well-being and social inclusion.
