Projektbeskrivning
After completing the doctoral dissertation “The Silent Journey: Existential loneliness from the perspective of older migrants” (2025), a new research project is now being developed focusing on existential loneliness and meaningful activities among older migrants. Previous research indicates that health-promoting interventions targeting different migrant groups remain insufficiently explored.
The aim of this project is to qualitatively investigate which types of activities, interventions, and forms of support are experienced as meaningful by older migrants. The theoretical framework builds on the findings of the dissertation, particularly Frankl’s conceptualization of meaning and the human striving for purpose.
