About the project
This project examines data abuse and unfair practices in digital and AI markets within EU competition law and digital regulation.
Aim
It aims to develop a legal-economic model for assessing fairness and contestability under the DMA, AI Act, and Data Act. The study addresses algorithmic collusion, self-preferencing, and AI-driven price discrimination, proposing regulatory solutions to bridge competition law and ex-ante enforcement.
Deliverables include:
- A legal-economic framework and screening test for assessing fairness in digital and AI markets, especially regarding algorithmic collusion and pricing.
- Policy recommendations to refine DMA and AI Act enforcement.
- Two journal articles and four conference presentations.
- A concluding conference presenting the findings to enhance legal certainty.
- Development of a European Researcher Network on Digital Fairness
