We invite you to an interactive workshop about the scientific approach CBPR theoretical principles and models, including those from the global south, and their application and best practices illustrated through different methodologies.

The workshop will be lead by the Professors Yolanda Suarez-Balcazar and Susan Magasi at the University of Illinois Chicago.

More about the workshop

Discussion will center on applying CBPR approaches that promote collaborative and equitable partnerships in all research phases, involve an empowering and power-sharing process, and promote sustainable social change.

Approaches illustrated will include a culturally tailored intervention designed to train community health workers to support the health and wellbeing of migrant mothers of children with disabilities, peer navigators and technology application to promote health equity, and community-engaged asset mapping to promote access to and exchange of resources.

The goal is to promote global collaboration and to share resources and practices.
