FACULTY OF HEALTH AND SOCIETY | Conference
Collaborative Action Research Network (CARN) 2024
Thursday 24 October, 13:00 - Saturday 26 October, 13:00
Orkanen, Malmö University, Nordenskiöldsgatan 10
Welcome to Collaborative Action Research Network (CARN) 2024
This is an Action Research conference which is expected to be platform for exchange of knowledge between researchers, practitioners, and various collaborating partners from the society. Such an exchange is regarded as important to bridge the gap between academic research and practical applications and to ensure that insights gained through research are effectively communicated and utilized in other organizations with a focus on citizens and their wellbeing. Moreover, the conference is expected to serve as a catalyst for ongoing dialogue and collective action beyond its confines, nurturing a global network of changemakers committed to the ideals of citizen empowerment, educational excellence, and sustainable development. In doing so, it endeavours to inspire a ripple effect of positive change, leaving an indelible mark on the landscape of health, education, and societal well-being for generations to come.
As hosts, Malmö University has a long-standing tradition of working closely with societal needs and this type of co-creative research process. Researchers from Malmö University have been working with Participatory Action Research and Community-Based Participatory Research(CBPR) for over nearly a decade. Academics and public actors including the municipality and the health care sector work together to contribute to the development, implementation, and improvement of initiatives to meet local challenges and strengthen citizens' well-being and health. This is also well aligned with CARN network's interest areas in the field of Action Research.
Date: 24-26 October 2024
Place: Orkanen, Malmö University
