Marcus Knutagård

Welcome to Marcus Knutagård's professorial inaugural lecture

Marcus Knutagård gives his lecture titled 'Going Home(less) – Walking to Work'.

In this lecture, Knutagård will review twenty years of research on homelessness and housing exclusion, connecting it to specific examples of locations where homeless individuals reside, such as park benches. Additionally, George's narrative will be shared. The discussion will connect homelessness to broader issues like exclusionary design and consider social work from both practical and research perspectives.

Knutagård will also highlight innovative methods like Housing First that aim to reduce homelessness. The impact of public policies on homelessness and how they can either alleviate or exacerbate the issue will be discussed. Furthermore, the role of community organisations in offering support and resources to homeless individuals will be examined.

Moderators
