Annica is an experienced nurse with over 30 years' experience in the profession, specialising in intensive care and anaesthesia. She primarily works as a lecturer in the Department of Care Sciences at Malmö University, but also regularly works clinically at the endoscopy clinic at Skåne University Hospital in Malmö.

Her clinically patient-oriented research focuses on how patient experiences after care can best be measured using reliable instruments. Affiliated with the Measures for Change research group, she has collaborated closely with patients and clinical practitioners throughout her doctoral project.

Annica is also a member of Colonoscopy Research Sweden, a national research group focusing on clinical colorectal endoscopy research.

Alongside her research, Annica teaches knowledge for quality and quality improvement in healthcare at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
