Presentation

Oskar Aspman holds a teaching position within the cultural unit at the Faculty of Arts, Culture, and Communication (K3). With a professional background as a comic artist, illustrator, and designer, Aspman has, during his tenure at Malmö University, cultivated an interest in the pedagogy surrounding artistic research in the academia, particularly within the field of comic art and visual communication. In recent years, he has contributed to conferences within this research domain, including: in 2021, the NordMedia 2021 conference with a presentation titled “Teaching Methods for Drawing and Visual Narratives” in Reykjavik, Iceland (participation via Zoom); the Contemporary Nordic Comics Research Conference with a discourse on “Teaching drawing. Observing absence.” in Malmö; and in 2022, the 54th International Visual Literacy Conference, presenting “Teaching Visual Communication” in Jyväskylä, Finland.
