About the project
The aim of the study is to highlight the life and health conditions (mental, physical and sexual) of young lgbtq+-migrants aged 16-30 in Sweden, by studying the experience of how their sexuality and identity have had an impact during their lifetime. The intention is to investigate their experiences of self-identifying as an lgbtq+ person in the country of origin, during migration, as well as arrival and integration in Sweden. The study also aims to highlight differences and similarities between gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people's experiences. The project mainly concerns lgbtq+- people from the Middle East and with Islam as religious belief.
