About the project

The overall aim of the project is to explore how male vulnerability is understood in relation to notions of an ideal masculinity. Knowledge about how men navigate vulnerability in the context of digitalization and AI remains limited. The project investigates, from different perspectives, how male vulnerability is understood from both a societal and an individual perspective.

Through interviews, analysis of internet discussions, and media discourses, the study explores themes such as men's experiences of relationships with AI for social, emotional, and sexual support, perceptions of masturbation and pornography consumption, and involuntary sexlessness.
